When I started writing Accidental Arrangement, I knew Lucy Moretti was going to be dramatic, stubborn, soft-hearted, and… constantly hungry.
But I didn’t quite expect her pregnancy cravings to take over my real kitchen too.
Because here’s the thing…
If I was going to write Lucy inhaling thick & gooey chocolate chip cookies, pistachio-maple cinnamon rolls, and late-night croissant experiments with Caleb sitting on her counter as the taste judge…
I wanted the recipes to be real.
As in: tested, tasted, and sometimes…. trash worthy...
So yes… I started recreating Lucy’s cravings right here at home.
And my family has opinions.
So many opinions.
Some days, my kitchen smells like heaven because a recipe actually works.
Other days, we are scraping things off the pan and pretending it was “supposed to be respectably disposed.”
But honestly?
It’s been one of my favorite parts of writing this book.
Bringing Lucy’s cravings to life has added something playful and cozy to the story—little scenes where Emma, Caleb, or even Alistair get caught up in whatever she must have right that second. The recipes became tiny character moments… and little snapshots of Lucy’s heart.
And as for my family?
Let’s just say they’ve been my unofficial taste-testers—sometimes thrilled, sometimes terrified, always fed.
They’re enjoying the wins (these cookies!), surviving the fails, and cheering me on as every craving becomes a recipe… and every recipe becomes part of Lucy’s world.
So yes—Accidental Arrangement isn’t just full of swoony moments, mafia-level loyalty, and two men fighting for one woman’s heart.
It also includes something much more important:
snacks.
Lots and lots of snacks.
And I hope you love them as much as we do! XOXO
